Terms & Conditions

A. Procedure for renting a vehicle:

There are many ways for making a reservation, so choose the one that is suitable for you, for example, by completing the on-line booking form of our website, by sending us an e-mail or by calling the reservation center).

Please confirm your reservation by taking a reservation number from our site or by calling MilosRentCars reservation center.

Payment of the reservation: In order for the reservation to be valid, a prepayment must be made. You can pay through our secure server usingyour credit card (Visa, MasterCard) or by depositing the amount on our bank account. If you wish to pay by depositing on our account, you must state while booking so that “MilosRentCars” can inform you about its bank account number.

Payment receipt: Upon collectingthe fee,either through your credit card or through your direct deposit, “MilosRentCars” will issue a receipt in the name of the renter and will immediately send it by the fax to him/her, while the original receipt will be delivered together with the car, unless the renter requests its being sent by post.

B. Rental Requirements:

– The driver must be over 21 years of age.

– Greek driving license, member of the European Union or International Driving License issued at least one year ago.

– Credit card (Visa – MasterCard).

C. General Rental Terms:

The minimum rental time is 24 hours. Every extra hour and up to three (3) hours is charged at 1/5 of the daily rate. Beyond these three (3) hours an extra day will be charged.

Deliveries and returns: No extra charge.

Fuel: The renter has to return the car containing the same amount of fuel that it had when he/she received it. In the case of return of the car with less fuel than the one delivered, thedifference in fuel willbe charged and there will be an additional refueling chargeof 10€. There will be no refund if the car is returned with more fuel than when it was delivered.

Fines: Any fines or administrative penalties resulting from any violation of the Greek Traffic Law during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the renter.

The vehicle can only be used for legitimate purposes.

Cars cannot be transported to and from any other island without prior written consent of “MilosRentCars”.

Rentals are valid only in Milos.

A rental extension of the beyond the date agreedcan only be made withprior written consent of MilosRentCars and with the prepayment required for the extension of the insurance coverage.

D. Insurance coverage:

Renters are insured against civil liability, third party damage, fire and theft of the vehicle.

1) CDW –Collision damage waiver

At a cost of 8 € per day the renter is fullyrelieved of any liability for damages to the car:

Deductible: the first 500 € for categories A, B and AA, € 600.00 for categories C and BA and € 700.00 for categories D and DA. (plus 24% VAT).

Driving in accordance to the Road Traffic Code is a prerequisite. There is no insurance against tire damage, car bottom damage, glass damage, and theft of personal belongings. In the event of damage due to accident, and in the event that the customer has paid for a fully comprehensive insurance, the car’s days of repair are also charged.

2) SCDW –Super Collision damage waiver

At a cost of 15 € per day the renter is is fully discharged of any liability for damages to the car:

Deductible:the first 250,00 € for categories A, B and AA, 350,00 € for categories C and BA and 450,00 € for categories D and DA (plus 24% VAT).

In the event of damage due to accident, and in the event that the customer has paid for a fully comprehensive insurance, the car’s days of repair are also charged.

E. Damage Management Policy

What happens if there is a damage in the vehicle during your rental?

From our experience, our renters drive very carefully and only few accidents occur. Thus, instances of vehicle failure are the exception and not the rule. But it is important to understand how we will manage damage if it happens.

«MilosRentCars» has implemented a clear damage management policy for explaining to you how a damage caused to the vehicle during your rental will be charged. For the full version of this policy, please refer to our Terms and Conditions. You may not be fully liable.

Keep in mind that depending on the type of insurance you have purchased for the rental, you may not have to pay for the damage, or you may be only partially liable.

1. Losses that have been identified when you delivered back the vehicle

If along with MilosRentCars dealer you identify any damage when you return the vehicle, you can recognize it signing the vehicle return statement. “MilosRentCars” will then provide you with an invoice describing the repair costs that you will be charged plus a managing fee to deal with the damage and immobilization of the vehicle.

Repair costs vary according to type of damage:

  • Light damage, insignificant damage that does not affect the safe driving of the vehicle, such as scratches, light windscreen damages, scratches on bumpers: Charges are based on the proposed pricelist available at each MilosRentCars station.
  • More substantial damages that have an impact to the use of the vehicle and require its temporary immobilization, such as damage to the bodywork. This type of damage will be evaluated by an independent expert and will be charged according to the expert’s report or a cost estimate made by an independent car repair shop.

If you challenge the damages and decide not to sign the vehicle return statement, “MilosRentCars” will follow the procedure described below (see Section 2).

2. Damage detected after the rental end(For example, you have returned the vehicle during off-hours)

If MilosRentCars representative identifiesany damage during the inspection of the vehicle after the end, MilosRentCars will send you the following documents:

– Vehicle return statement describing all the damage found

– Photos of the damages

-Evaluation of repair costs that will vary depending on the type of damage (see above) plus a management fee for damage and vehicle immobilization.

If you wish to challenge the damage identified or the repair costs, you should contact us via email or letter within 14 days of sending the documents. At the end of this 14 day period, “MilosRentCars” can invoice you for repair and managing costs.

If you wish to challenge the damage Invoice, you can send a claim to the Customer Service Department.

F. Failure to return the vehicle- Non-appearance fee

If you did not cancel your reservation at least 48 hours before the date and time of the order or if you pick up your vehicle before the closure time of the office or service station, MilosRentCars will charge you accordingly. This amount will be charged either in local currency or in your card’s billing currency, where applicable, and at the exchange rate and conditions applicable at the time of the transaction.

G. Force majeure

None of the contracting parties is liable for the failure to execute this contract, due to any case of force majeure. “Force majeure” is – as defined by the applicable regulation (s) – any irresistible or unforeseeable event, independent of a party’s will, which prevents that party from fulfilling its obligations.

H. Applicable law – Competent courts

These Terms and Conditions have been issued under Greek law and for any dispute the applicable law shall be the Greek law and the competent courts shall be those of Athens.

I. Privacy Policy

MilosRentCars, the headquarters of which is located in Adamas, Milos, is responsible for the processing of your personal data (ie. Any information that will allow us to identify you directly or indirectly) collected through this website.

MilosRentCars processes personal data that you voluntarily provide to MilosRentCars through this website for the following purposes:

  • Confirmation and guarantee of your reservation.
  • Modification or cancellation of your reservation.
  • Arrangements with you about your reservation (e.g. Provision of information about your reservation, sending you a reminder before your check-in / check-out, answers to your questions or suggestions).
  • Management of your invoices if you decide to pay in advance and face any arrears.
  • Management of eventual claims
  • Management of your booking and preparation of your rental agreement
  • If you decide to pay in advance,
  • 8. For your full information, MilosRentCars may only retain your credit card information -with your explicit consent- in order to facilitate future payments.
  • 9. Management of fines and delivering on to any public or private body the particulars of the driver (or potential driver).

Κ. Cancellations

  1. Cancellation of a booking must be made a minimum of forty eight (48) hours before the rental of the vehicle is due to commence, pursuant to a booking made on this booking engine. If you wish to cancel a booking, the only accepted method is through our MilosRentCars Website.
  2. In case of cancellations of bookings the following charges will be applied:
    2.1. In the event of a cancellation notice which is received by MilosRentCars at least forty eight (48) hours before the rental of the vehicle is due to commence, pursuant to a booking made on this booking engine, all funds will be reimbursed.
    2.2. In the event of a cancellation notice which is received by MilosRentCars less than forty eight (48) hours before the rental of the vehicle is due to commence, pursuant to a booking made on this booking engine, no funds paid will be reimbursed.
  3. In the event that you cancel or amend a credit card booking, MilosRentCars will not be liable for any monetary losses suffered by you as a result of a change in monetary exchange rates between the time of your original booking and its subsequent cancellation or amendment (as applicable).

Safety policy

In order to safeguard personal information and financial transactions, «MilosRentCars» uses secure technology. «MilosRentCars» complies with the procedures and safety standards.

General

Any omission of “MilosRentCars” to exercise or impose any right or provision of these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of this right or provision. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a competent court to be invalid, the parties agree that the court should try to implement the intentions of the parties as reflected in the provision while all other provisions of the Terms & Conditions remain in full force and effect. The titles of the sections in the Terms and Conditions are for convenience only and do not have a legal or contractual effect.
